There are often situations were the lens on the camera just doesn't have the characteristics to capture the shot, exactly as the person shooting would ideally like to frame it. Wide Angle Adapters Wide Angle adapters are attached to the front of the lens and increase the field of view of the lens. They are either of a fixed variety that work with the zoom at its' widest setting or they are the zoom through type which allow the zoom range of the lens to be utilized. Generally the zoom through units are more optically sophisticated and more costly. .6 WA Adapter Ideal when full zoom isn't needed, it offers 40% wider angle of view. Allows partial zoom capability. .7 WA Adapter Add the .7X Wide Angle Converter for shots requiring a wider angle of view and full zoom capabilities. The .7X adds 30% more coverage throughout the range. Fisheye Adapters Fisheye Adapters are extreme wide-angle attachments that are used for effect and provide unique images. The infinite depth of field produced by these accessories can be used in many creative ways. Fisheye Adapter For wider views with barrel distortion. This non-zoom-thru add-on provides approximately 2.3mm focal length, 92 degree horizontal angle of view and weighs only 7.6oz. Extreme Fisheye .3 Adapter For the widest possible views & extreme barrel distortion. This non-zoom-thru add-on provides approximately 1.4mm focal length, 130 degree horizontal angle of view and weighs only 7.6oz. Tele-Converters No matter how long a lens is there are always situations where it isn't enough. Tele-Converters increase the focal length and get you closer to the action. There are two types of Tele-Converter, those that attach to the front of the lens and those that attach between the mount and the camera. 2x Tele-Converter (front) The 2X Tele-Converter is a front-mounting accessory that provides greater telephoto reach. It instantly shifts the focal length range in the telephoto direction. 2x Tele-Converter (rear) Mounted between the camera and video zoom, the Tele-Extender doubles the lens' focal length -- enabling a shooter to capture faraway action in close-up. Achromatic Diopters For close-up work where the subject is nearer that the minimum focus of the lens, there are Achromatic Diopters. These macro-zoom attachments offer unmatched image clarity and magnification. They can also be stacked for even greater magnification. Achromatic Diopters 16:9 Wide Screen Adapter To fully utilize all the capabilities of the CCD chip of a video camera, the 16:9 (anamorphic) wide screen adapter squeezes the image. This utilizes all the pixels available rather than masking. When the image is fed to a 16:9 monitor the image spreads out to fill the frame.
