The art and craft of photography, filming, shooting, capturing images has been enhanced over the years with the use of camera filters. There are a variety of types and special ones developed by a number of manufacturers through long standing relationships with people who make pictures. Filters can be mounted directy on to lenses by way of a direct screw mount or clamp-on adapter. Or they can be mounted on or in front the lens with the use of a matte box or sunshade. The size of the filter required is dictated by the field of view of the lens in combination with the lenses front diameter.
